Galley Kitchens Looking Grand

Via

Galley kitchens usually make me run the other way when house hunting.  You know what they say. Kitchens sell a house.
A lot of cooking took place in ours over the weekend which reminded me why I like a spacious one. We have an island which makes it impossible for two people to cook at the same time.
But...these little gems are so pretty, I might be tempted to ignore the obvious if I saw one on a house hunt.

"Join linky parties!"

(This week's blogging tip submitted by Sherry at Blue Ridge Altered Art.)

I jumped the gun last week on Beverly's celebration, so Happy Birthday again to Pink Saturday at How Sweet the Sound.

Sherry makes a great tip encouraging us to join linky parties. They are the best kind of party to attend because we don't even have to leave the comfort of our own homes.  But if we could...
I'd love to invite you to one of these-

Outdoors seems like the perfect way to start the summer.

We are having company this weekend and I'm really looking forward to spending time on the back porch sipping lemonade and visiting. Keeping fingers crossed that it won't be too hot.
Hope you have a relaxing holiday weekend!

Graduation Time

Source: etsy.com via Beatrice on Pinterest

Time for graduation celebrations! Congrats to all the 2011 graduates!

First, I'd like to thank each of you who have sent well wishes and prayers for little Gavin. He was diagnosed with hepatoblastoma, a rare form of cancer (odds=1.5 in a million.)  But thank God it's treatable.  He is having a port put in today and chemo starts tomorrow.  Please pray that the chemo will shrink the tumor down to nothing so they can remove it surgically, avoiding a liver transplant. I have relayed all of the kind comments to the family and it really lifted their spirits. Doctors gave no hope in the beginning but God has intervened and we are thankful for this miracle!

What's a graduation without a party?
These fruit displays were created by my friend for her son's graduation party.

Next year will be monumental for us when Doc graduates.  I've already started an idea file because we are gonna par-tay!

Creative invitation...

Graduation reminds us that school is out.  My kids have been out for one day and I've already heard the word "bored."

Gift Wrapping

Via
I love it but usually only do it at Christmas.  With a pile of graduation and wedding gifts to wrap, I'm thinking a gift wrapping station could really motivate me to create fancy packages.

This is one of my favorite blogs.

Sande does amazing work and also owns a gift wrapping shop. (Adding this one to the B List!)

I usually take the lazy way out and use gift bags.

"If you attend (link up to) a party...always speak (comment) to the hostess."
by Linda of Coastal Charm, who by the way, is hostess to an awesome party,
Nifty Thrifty Tuesdays.

I'd say that's just good party manners.

Speaking of parties...
Beverly of How Sweet the Sound is celebrating her 3rd Birthday for Pink Saturday!

Thank you Beverly for being such a gracious hostess for 3 long years!  That's dedication.
