Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head

I love the smell of fresh rain.
Rain makes our paths glisten.

No sweeter sound than rain hitting a tin roof or the window  pane.

Rain brings forth the fragrance of pretty flowers.

 Rain is a beautiful thing!

I say...

let them play in the rain!
Puddles are made for jumping in.

Why do we try so hard to keep our kids out of rain?  I guess we don't want their shoes ruined or their clothes to get wet.

I don't think my parents worried too much about lightening, pollution or us catching a cold.  We would play and run squealing in the rain until we were silly.  We'd wring the water out of our shirts and shake our heads like a wet puppy dog.
The best part was letting raindrops melt in our mouths.

When you become an adult, there's nothing quite as romantic as kissing in the rain.

Rain doesn't last forever but memories do.
I will be traveling out of town this week but have scheduled my posts ahead of time. The Doc is up for a very big honor, (the AOA for those familiar with the medical field.)  I'll visit with you next week!
Whatever road you're on-
no matter where life takes you...
don't forget to feel the rain!

  3. I too love Rain.. I always wonder what the folks in the mall parking lot think when they see me stop and catch raindrops on my tongue and grin like a goon, while they are all covered up and running for the doors.. Folks sure miss out on the fun stuff in life and race to Spend money while missing out on the FREE stuff- like RAIN:)
Hope you're having a wonderful trip.

  8. We've had a bit too much rain. A nice summer rain is one thing, but standing for 2 hours in 35 degree rain 2 days in a row for lacrosse games sucks all the fun out of the rain.

Congrats to the Doc! Have a nice trip!

  10. Oh Tammy Sweetie...
Thanks for letting me splish splash and jump a puddle or two this morning. I feel SO refreshed. Now I think we need to sit and have that cup of warm tea we have been talking about. I love it. Everything smells so fresh and clean, and has been given a good drink.

Congrats to the Doc. Medical Honor Society award hu? How exciting. It is quite an honor I am told. I can't wait to hear all about it. Can't wait to see pics of the trip as well. I know you are clicking.

Have a glorious week sweet friend. No rain here in the valley, upper 90s and sunny and warm. Lovin it. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

  11. "Raindrops keep falling on my head" is like the state anthem here in Oregon! LOL! We don't even carry umbrellas around these parts and the kiddos love to play in the puddles. That is so exciting about the special honor for your hubby and I hope you guys have a great trip!

  14. When it rains here in Colorado we are so thankful as it has been dryer then normal the past few years!

Was in Oregon a few weeks ago and it never stopped raining- Gorgeous there but I do love the sun!

    Happy Travels!

  15. Loved this post so much. I don't think I really appreciated the rain until I started a vegetable garden! Well, I'll take that back. When I was a child, we had a metal roof. There is nothing better than the sound of rain hitting a metal roof(especially at night.) Your photo of the rose with the raindrops was incredible. Congrats to your husband. I know you must be very proud of him.

  19. Congratulations to the Doc! Fabulous photos! I still like to play in the rain! Well, let me clarify - I like playing in the light spring rains, not a torrential downpour!

    Have a fabulous trip!

  22. Oh girl! I wish I could be just as excited for the rain, but alas, living in Oregon we have had the wettest year ever! It's funny though in the summer here if we don't get a rain shower now and then because they are more rare, we all start to get a little crabby!
Thank you for your beautiful pictures though, it had me looking at rain in a fresh new way!

  23. Ohhhh, that was nice post, Tammy. There is something comforting about the rain. I especially like to hear it when I'm snug and warm inside the house or, better yet, under the warm covers.

Loved all the photos. Is that like Free Foto. com? I wonder.

Hope you have an excellent week. Take care. Susan

  24. First of all, congrats to Doc! And you two have a wonderul time together! I LOVE summer rains! And I always go out and play with Lia on rainy days. We have fun just dancing around. Troy just rolls his eyes. The anti-rain guy that he is, just doesn't get it!

  25. Lovely shots. My favoutire rainy thing to do is snuggle up in bed as it beats down on the roof. Sheer bliss

  26. Well i guess I'm going to have to look at the rain in a romantic way now that i live on the West Coast...I'm just glad it doesn't rain near as much as Vancouver the mainland...then I'd go crazy!

    I just loved yesterday's post of the umbrella's !
I love umbrella's. I need to find one like the ones you posted!

  27. I love that Bob Marley quote! I welcome the rain at times. I'm not thrilled with what it does to my hair but I know I wouldn't have my flowers without it. Congrats to your hubby for the award.

  31. Playing in the rain is the best! Congratulations to Doc -- and to the family; awards don't happen without everyone's sacrifice, do they? Happy Easter to you all.

  32. Why Tammy, those photos almost make me like the rain! Living in Canada we just get way too much of it, but I grew up in thunderstorm territory and loved the smell of fresh rain on the hot earth:-)

  33. I love rain and playing in the rain, hopefully warm summer rain, is so wonderful and brings me back to my childhood when it was ok to jump in puddles and dance around and slide through the wet grass!
Congrats to Doc and have fun!!
    Happy Easter!

  34. The umbrellas are so beautiful, yet I rarely use one, it's just easier to make a run for it. I love the rain too, actually any noisy weather. We're sorely in need of rain here in TX, run away fires and all. The governor has even asked us to pray for rain!
    Susanne.
