Time to Hang Up the Rain Boots and Bring Out the Sunshine

Via

We had a nice sunshiny day for Easter.  Perfect for a grill out and  egg hunt.  It took us an hour to find the prize egg.  I forgot where I hid it.  Please tell me I'm not the only one who does this otherwise, my family's diagnosis may stick. (I did hide more than one prize egg.)

Even though the rain has dissipated, I'm on the lookout for rain boots.  I just think they are cute.  Check these out.

I'll probably settle on these affordable pair from Target and place them next to my umbrella holder in the foyer.

Speaking of being on the lookout, here's my little son looking out on a beautiful view last week.

It's from The Pinnacle Club in Augusta, GA.  We were there for a dinner honoring the Doc and 13 others who were being inducted to AOA.

Guess you could say, we were pretty much on top of the world that day.

Thanks to everyone for all the nice comments you wrote last week.  I have enjoyed reading them all.
Trying to get back in the blog groove.

  1. I don't know that I could slosh around in the rain in Coach boots. Love the colorful ones above them! What a great way to brighten up a grey day. The polka-dotted Target boots are really fun, too. Glad you had a nice trip. Another big congrats to the hubs. Such an incredible honor. Thanks for sharing.

  2. I was beginning to worry that I was the only person who forgets where she puts things! I am currently looking for a white platter that I needed for Easter dinner yesterday! I guess I need to start writing down where I put stuff! :)

  3. Is that your fence with the boots? I ADORE that!! I love the look of the boots but I don't know if I could wear them...sigh....my feet have become pretty fickle as I've gotten older! LOL

  4. Beatrice, first off congratulations to the Doc. What a terrific honor! Cute photo! No rain boots here, though I've envied the ones I've seen. Need to add these to my list, but we've been in a drought for so long that rain hardly appears in our vocabulary these days. Still they would be fun. Love the shot of the boots hanging on the fence all planted with sunny flowers. Cute idea.
Hope you find the missing egg.
    Hugs ~ Sarah

  6. That is too funny, forgetting where the prize egg was. Oh well, at least your husband didn't say that the Easter Bunny must be getting lazy because of where "he" hid the easter basket this year for my step-son. Umm, I guess laziness could be the correct term. We always hide the baskets for the kids, and now only one kid qualifies for hide and seek baskets, as the other kids are now MEN!

oh, and when we had guests for Easter dinner yesterday someone sat on an egg hidden in the sofa, so yes, we're still finding the forgotten eggs too!!

  32. I'm so diggin those rain boots on the fence. Too cute! I bought an old pair of rainboots a couple years back. I display them with flowers on my drop-leaf antique table in my foyer. They get so many compliments, and they're just plain jane. Love the idea of doing different colors though.

    Congrats to your husband! Awesome.

I know! I understand, I can NOT WAIT to finally be in the new little house. We have lived in this house for almost 20 yearsand I don't like it. It has never been "me". Always just made do with everything. I am so excited to finally decorate with the colors and things I LOVE.
Hopefully we will both be settled soon!
    Have a pretty day!
