Say What?

Better Homes and Garden
Has anyone had to buy more storage from Google for photos on Blogger? Hoping I didn't get scammed. I can download photos from other sources, but not my own. It also takes 24 hours to complete the purchase process. $5 for 20 GB, automatically renewing each year. I'll have to watch my billing. What a pain.

I hope each of you will enter this GIVEAWAY.  For those who facebook, please go like E.W. McCall. All for a good cause!

  1. I also had to pay the same amount for extra space. Just 5 dollars per year and they took it automatically
    from my account.
Now I have lots of free space, blog till I drop..

  2. Yes I did~along time ago. I never used to resize my photos, so I was loading and storing huge sized pics! I think I had to be billed twice so far in two years...not a scam.

  3. I have heard people talk about that in the past. I have never seen it come up on mine, but I only use Picasa and windows for my photos.

  4. I've not seen anything yet. I resize all of my photos before posting. Maybe that helps.

  7. Yes, I did this quite awhile ago. I resize pics, but I still leave them pretty large because I can't stand tiny pics on blogs. :-) It's not a scam, but I don't remember it being an annual charge. I think mine was just $5 for lots of additional storage. They may have changed their policy on that, though.

  8. I haven't heard of this, but need to check into. Seems pretty reasonable for all of the space. Happy Thursday!!

  9. Oh my, say what is right. ;) How do we resize in order to avoid this?
LOVE the black and white floors. DREAMY.
Enjoy your day, Tammy. Always great stopping by.
    Much love!

  10. Hello,

I did know that there was a storage limit but I always re-size my photos.
    They are all low resolution...

  13. Hi Tammy,
I have heard of others having to do this, it's too bad you have to spend the money though, eh?
    I love today's image.
    Have a sweet day, Cindy

  14. I did last year and did not use anywhere near the amount I paid for but they just yesterday made me buy more so I do think it is a bit ridiculous since I still had plenty of space left. I guess now I have even more space.

  15. I think resizing your photos to lower resolution helps a lot with storage --- makes posting faster too. They still look pretty good.

  16. Hmmm. Never heard about this. I use Picasa - love Picasa- and always post large photos. Do you feel a bit uncomfortable with a company automatically billing you and having access to your account? I'm sure it's fine but I'm just a worry wart.

  18. I don't resize my photos before posting and I don't think I've paid any extra money...but I haven't been blogging that long and my posts aren't all that regular. I use Picasa so I wonder if that makes a difference? Who knows? It's always something. :o)

  20. I had to pay the $5 fee after only 2 months of blogging! My photos are huge and I hate to resize, I have already been billed again at the one year mark. And no, I'm still not resizing, but I should be!

  22. Hello Tammy,

    I haven't heard of that.

I'm considering converting my blog to a .com by a host that Blogger uses for $10.00 a year.

You might want to check into it yourself.

    Enjoy your weekend! :)
