After hearing much feedback about the word verification device, and the apparent disdain of it by many, Penny Lane Designs has helped me create a new "button." If you do not know what word verification is or how to remove it, read about it here, here or here. We are not advocating lack of security. Research security measures and decide for yourself. For those of us who like to comment a lot, word verification is a pain. Some bloggers will not even comment if they must go through the deciphering process. And believe me, it is a process. One mistake and it's back to the box with letters harder to decipher.
Help spread the word by identifying your blog as a "word verification free blog." It's a courtesy to those who take time to comment on your posts.
The button is yours for the taking. You'll find it on my right sidebar.
Happy Blogging!

Button, button, who's got the button? I do!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat post....Thanks for the button!!!
great idea, thank you!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, thanks! And why do we love buttons so much--I'm meaning the real kind especially! Thanks for your kind comments on my recent post!
ReplyDeleteI'll put it on mine but I usually go through the process on others because I took the time to read them and want to comment. I guess I just have too much time on my hands...lol...
ReplyDeleteI love the buttons! So cute!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.
Pam
Thanks for creating this button and offering it to the rest of us!
ReplyDeleteHello Sweet B,
ReplyDeleteAll of these buttons are just beautiful. I love buttons and have been trying to decide what to do with a couple of big tins of them. You showed some great craft projects.
These images are great! They certainly dress up furniture don't they.
Thanks for the new "button". I may just borrow that for my blog, thanks so much!
Hugs, Cindy
Beautiful pics, love this post. I'm looking forward to the tufting post.I'm reupholstering a tufted chair. I have a thing for tufts and nail head trim and buttons
ReplyDeleteWow, I love every single shot, especially the top three, swoon! I love to keep mine in jars and use the big vintage ones in projects.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the button:-)
Tracey
PS. Convo-ed you back!
I have always loved buttons, but this takes it to a whole new level. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting and following! I'd be happy to follow back, especially when you do a lovely post about buttons!!! I especially LOVE the jars full!
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday!
ReplyDeleteI love the decorative way you used these buttons.
Awesome!
~ Gabriela ~
Your button collection is so beautiful. I would love to run my fingers through all of them and just look at all the patterns. What fun!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday, Char
Beautiful photos ... love all the buttons. I have some I just can't part with.
ReplyDeletehappy Pink Saturday!
What brilliant photographs - I just love them. I need to get my own collection out and take some pix, so I can dazzle everyone too. I love your final button - word verification is the bane of my life! And so unnecessary when comments are moderated.
ReplyDeleteBig hug and a Happy Pink Saturday from the UK!
OOOHHH - button envy! Love the envelopes with the button! Happy Pink Saturday. Nancy :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous! So glad you are spreading the word too...whooo hooo!
ReplyDeletethis reminds of the game...'button, button who Tas the button'...and it looks as if you have them! What a great post, who would ever think that there were so many wonderful ideas involving buttons,(-:
ReplyDeleteWhat a creative button post.....I'm a lover of vintage buttons, too!
ReplyDeleteI thought the word verification was to help cut down on spam comments sent out of big companies. It doesn't bother me to take a few moments to verify the word on someone's comment section. I guess that's something that is not a big deal to me.
Happy Pink Saturday!
dana
I don't know which picture I would pick if I had to pick one as my favorite! Love all the buttons. I look at buttons as jewelry for your clothing, pillows, you name it. Those pictures take buttons to a whole new level! I will tell you one thing, the comment on the word verification thing had me go right to my blog, and take it out. A very big thank you! I'm new to this, and didn't even realize I had mine on. Oops!
ReplyDeleteCute idea for the blog button! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI so enjoyed all your button photos. I love old buttons. They are like little pieces of art. ~ sarah
Your button is awesome! Together we can prevent word verification !
ReplyDeleteIf anyone is dealing with spam just moderate your coMents and approve them individually.
Love all of these precious buttons!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Word Free Verification Blog button!! I added it to my sidebar!!
HPS!!
HUGS,
Debbie
Hi and Happy PS. Nice selection of photos, I especially love the postcard one.
ReplyDeleteI love de buttons!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! Love your buttons!
ReplyDeleteHugs.
Oh, how I adore buttons! You have an amazing display of them. I was fortunate enough today to stop by the thrift store, just in time to score about 40 Art Deco style buttons. They're better than chocolate! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI have a huge button collection--some I've purchased and some from the wonderful ladies in my family who've gone before me. I have no idea what I will ever do with them but I love them.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to try and figure out how to grab that button!!
Have a wonderful weekend.
Best,
Bonnie
Awe, buttons, such a simple item, that has so much to add, from everyday to elegant.
ReplyDeleteHappy PS

Gail
I absolutely adore all your buttons! I took the Verification Free Button and placed it on my blog. Thank you, you are an angel. HPS!
ReplyDeleteJoyce M
What a fantastic post! I love me some buttons! The word verification IS annoying. I took mine off a long time ago. The most annoying is when you're trying to type letters in and the blog is skipping around on you.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend and thanks for sharing your buttons!
I love buttons!! I can never get enough buttons!! Happy Pink Saturday!
ReplyDeleteI love every single one of these images Tammy, so beautiful. Looking forward to reading about tufting. If I ever reupholster something (besides my dining room chairs which were time consuming, but easy), I'd love to do tufting.
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday
Hugs,
Lisa x
pretty buttons!!
ReplyDeletelove the inspiration photos!
Happy PS!!
Have a blessed weekend:)

Girl, I just want to run my fingers through all those buttons. They look so fun and so pretty. Don't buttons dress things up? I especially like the pretty white dress - reminds me of my baby girl getting married in a few months. What a delightful post!
ReplyDeleteOooooh, I wanna play with those buttons !!!!! My mother's button tin was one of my favorite things to rummage through as a girl - and now I have it here in my craftroom !
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing,
gena
Wow... I love all those buttons, especially those big ones on the wall.
ReplyDeleteWonder how long it will be before we see 'copies' of those all over the place? They're cute.
as for the verification free blog button. I'll take one, please!
Don't like word verification either... well, I do have exceptions.
I'll post your button and give my reason there!
Thanks.
I love buttons! I have a collection of odd sized buttons cause I'm just that Odd sort of woman! lol.. I like the last button to which I'll be stitching into my blog..
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Yes, I'm a button hoarder. I love them and your photos. Thanks for sharing such good info!

AMEN!!!!! I despised the system so much I removed it from my blogs over a month ago. I am 72. At night when I am trying to write comments before going to bed, my eyes are tired and I am always typing in the wrong letters. Sometimes it takes 3 or even 4 or 5 tries to post my thoughts.I love your button and will put in on both of my sites. Thanks. Now, to your buttons. I adore buttons, and this post thrills my inner child. Are these all of your buttons? If so, you are so clever and creative with your storage techniques and the ways you use them. The napkin holders are out of this world. Happy PS.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I just love all the buttons:-0
ReplyDeleteAs you know I have not been blogging long and someone told me about the issues of the blog verification within the first week. So I took it off and although I don't have a ton of followers, I have had no issues yet. Sooooo, I'll be glad to take the button:-)
Happy Pink Saturday
Warm Wishes, CindyLew
GORGEOUS EACH PICTURE. I really love using buttons to adorn so many things. Happy PS.
ReplyDeleteAnn
Hi Tammy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet button post. Love the first picture! I grew up with "button jars" around all the time. A shirt was never discarded until the buttons were removed and put in the jar.
These photos are OUTSTANDING! Sigh. I love the buttons on the linen slip cover. So dainty.
ReplyDeleteMary Ann
Hi There...This is my first visit...I am wandering through the blogs on Pink Saturday...and thanks to you, mu blog is now word verification free! Thanks for the advice...and the button...
ReplyDeleteI love your button collection! I too have a button collection, which has been neglected for some time...where do you find your buttons? You have inspired me...I am a new follower fromTrulySimplyPink
Pinkim!
Loved your button post and even filed away an idea for the wedding! Thank you and I am tickled pink you are spreading the word about "word verification". So many people don't realize you can do away with it and just have approval instead which is necessary to avoid spam. I have gone to some blogs where I have to fill out a form and then on top of that they have word verification too....uh uh! HPS xoxo
ReplyDeleteHoly Smokes Girl look at all your comments. Goodness gracious bloggin has been good to you. Ha!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, love the picture of the buttons on the wall with that beautiful chair. What a feast for the eyes.
Hope your day has been blessed.
Viola
Hey Tammy...great idea. Since Marina designed my blog too the button looks perfect on my side bar! The real buttons are so fun...my favorite picture is of the dining room chair cover with the covered buttons. So lovely. Hope you are having a good weekend. ~Ann
ReplyDeleteLove the button, thank you for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteAll of a sudden I have a strange urge to start collecting buttons! Fun post.

HAPPY PINK SATURDAY BEATRICE,
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful buttons. I don't know what it is about buttons, seeing them and running my hands through piles of them that makes me so happy and giggly.
I love those big buttons on the wall...those would be adorable in a sewing room or studio.
I love your name...it sounds like a story book...wink...
I Hope you will drop by and visit me.
Have A Sugar Sweet Day

I have a jar full of white buttons(love them) and another full of different shades of colors. Loved looking thur all of yours. I've grabbed the word verification button, thanks so much for doing this...I'm now a follower and my blog is somethingniceandpretty.blogspot.com hope you stop by for a visit when you have a minute! I'll be adding you to my bloglist!
ReplyDeleteRondell
Tammy,
ReplyDeleteI put your new button on my blog and followed your instructions...hopefully, the word verification is off now.
Thanks!
Mary Ann
I love buttons, too, especially vintage ones! When I was a little girl, I would spend hours playing in my mom's button box. Great photos, my favorite is those gorgeous slip covered chairs!!!

A gorgeous button post!!! Love all these pics and inspiration!
ReplyDelete~ Julie
THANK YOU so much for the word v. button. I am so thrilled to have it.
ReplyDeletexo bj
What a great idea. I am so sick of WF on blogs. I have said it over and over check no!
ReplyDeleteI adore buttons and how you have shown them. Makes my heart sing!!! but the thing I loved the most was the button card napkin rings. Love those. I have many vintage buttons from Hubby's grandmother and would love to use them this way. Great blog! I'm your new follower!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
debbie
Oh yeah, I'm grabbing that word verification button you know! Beautiful images of the buttons!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
I agree! I can't stand having to do that!!
ReplyDeleteFabulously beautiful blog!
ReplyDeleteI am wholeheartedly with you.
I cordially greet.
Thank you for the button. I have posted about this subject a few times. I have never had word verification and could count on one hand how many times I have had to delete a comment.
ReplyDeleteI get emails on every comment so I can spot if someone has left spam on any post be it a new one or an old one.
Love the button, I have installed on my blog as well. We do hate those little letters, don't we! LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to see that word verification banner. I despise them lol. I'm hopping along and putting it on my page.
ReplyDeleteThank you for making this button!!!
ReplyDeleteI have always hated word verification, and have been a little outspoken about it sometimes, LOL.
I am gladly taking the button to add to my blogs.
Jen @ Muddy Boot Dreams
Thanks for the button, I grabbed it also. Word Verification is maddening:(
ReplyDeleteI've grabbed your button and I agree that word verification is a big ol pain in the pattootie.
ReplyDeleteNow, if we could only get rid of the music, lol. Nothing like sneaking onto a blog from the office only to be busted by the music....
so far I have put the "verification free blog" on 6 of mine. Thanks for providing it. :)
ReplyDeleteOh how I love buttons- especially vintage ones!
ReplyDeleteI love these pictures, Tammy, especially the very first and that gorgeous chair. I couldn't resist clicking on your word verification free button and I cannot agree more. It is a pain, especially when it freezes up your computer. If bloggers want to protect from spam, all they need to do is moderate their comments. What really gets to me is when they choose both moderating AND the word verification. Oh my! With time, I let even the moderating go. Simplicity, simplicity, simplicity!!
ReplyDeleteTook both your buttons and on to see what your third one is all about. ;)
Blessings!
Thanks for the button. I grabbed one for me and I agree... it makes commenting so much easier! I loved going through the lovely montage of buttons... so inspiring. Thanks for sharing!~Poppy
ReplyDeleteNice to see someone doing something like this. I find word verification really annoying. Especially when they use it on top of other comment moderation.
ReplyDeleteWord Grrls
Now if only Blogger would get on the ball and just let people type in their name and link rather than having to link through their Google account.
Your blog is a dream; overflowing with loveliness. I enjoyed this post! "Much ado about buttons" Wonderful!

Wow, I never the possibilities opened up by buttons. Wonderful post.
ReplyDeleteSome of my favorite bloggers pestered me into becoming verification a few months ago. I've only had two spam comments in all that time.
I'm in love!!!!

following too

ReplyDeleteLaura

ReplyDeleteTHANKS SO MUCH FOR THE WV avator...I'm putting it on my blog...I dislike that feature.
Karen
I found my way here from Muddy Boot Dreams. I have added your word verification free button to the post I did today.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the WV button. I've been WV free for ages, but the new WV process is even more tedious than the old.
ReplyDeleteLove your real buttons - my greatest pleasure as a child was to play with mum's button tin, full of beautiful old buttons.
Thank yu thank yu thank yu..for youur time and efforts...button button you have the buttons and now I have yours on my blog....thanks...

ReplyDeleteLove your buttons, especially that last one! Thanks much! :)
ReplyDeleteI also have WV turned off and a button. I was trying to find someplace however that we could all post our links to our blogs for those that have WV off. But I am not versed in the Linky Widget or add things like that. Would you be interested in creating a sponsoring something like this?
ReplyDeleteNice buttons i downloaded your word verification blog, google had me for a full half hour and i'm pretty sure i got most of them right. Finally i thought i would try and skip this page and i did, rotten bloomin buggers.
ReplyDeleteI'm very late to the party but thank you so much for the button!
ReplyDeleteI never thought of putting buttons on the wall as decoration. That's really neat. I'm going to try that in my room.
ReplyDelete-Zane of ontario honey
I love buttons. And thanks for the "button" - I'm a blogger who hates word verification!
ReplyDeleteGreat post on button with wonderful photos. I am using the Verification free button, thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteThanks ot Muddy Boots Jen, I've added your button to both my blogs. Tired of WP people blaming Blogger for Word Verification
ReplyDeleteThanks for the button.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering why commenters would rather e-mail me than comment.
One kind blogger told me the problem & I went into settings and fixed it.
Thanks again!!
BTW, I love buttons :)
