Green is just pretty to look at...

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
It's been the week for green! Thanks for all the fun and interesting comments. Amazing how many friends said green was their absolute favorite color. To be honest, I've never been a huge fan of it. But lately, I've been adding a few touches here and there in my decor. It brings life.
I think green is just plain pretty to look at.

One of the first discoveries we made at the kindergarten art table is that yellow and blue make green. But there are tons of variations which makes it all but impossible to categorize.
Remember this little lesson from art class?

hue: purest brightest color
tint: aka pastel.  Adding white to a color.
shade: adding black to a color.
tone: adding white and black. A color that is "greyed down."

Here's a small sampling of greens.

Other names for green- pear, apple, lime, asparagus, avocado, bean, fig, emerald, persian, spring, ivy, pine, forest, clover, grass, jungle, camouflage, army, olive drab, aqua, teal, celadon, tea...
and the list goes on.

What is your favorite green?

Cute candle! I love any shade of green but my absolute favourite would have to be aqua! I love all your photos, the green cabinets are especially nice. But my favourite thing would have to be the VW!! Happy St. Patricks Day to you!

Blessings,
Sandi

Today is my daughter's birthday, and her name is Kelly. We didn't plan it that way, but she now enjoys the connection.

Her bedroom is also painted green; sort of like the color of the curtains in you "natural green" section - a little lighter than canned green peas. :)

And it (the color) gets the most compliments of any room in our house.

Never really liked chartreuse.

Thanks for the green tour today, and Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I am not a big fan of green although I have a green office and some wallpaper in mossy green. I don't wear it well and I don't think I have any clothes with green. What will I do today? ;-D

Jane

Nice pictures. You have been busy. Actually, I really like a very washed out, soft version of green, which I'm planning to paint most of our house in, going between greens and blues.

I love green but I think I change my favorites with the seasons! Lately, I have been loving bright lime greens with either hot pink or blue. Most of the greens in my house are more muted like sage green.

Hey Tammy...I have loved all of your green posts. It must have been so fun gathering all the photos. I have a little green on my back porch and deck...none in my house. I would love to figure out how to add it. Thanks for your support the last few days. It means so much to me...you are easy to talk to. Hope you are having a great week...~Ann

Thanks for sharing all the green this week. Your photos are full of inspiration. I never considered green a favorite color, but I like to wear the bright lime green of late and in summer I find celery green linen a perfect choice. I see the comment above as I type this. LOL Perhaps I need to go buy some of that fabric.
Happy St. Patrick's Day! ~ Sarah

Greens are so versatile and the array of green here is divine! No matter what variation of green, I like it accented with a touch of black.

Delicious display here!

Another great set of pics! That vaseline glass hobnail perfume bottle is a show stopper. Having a perfume bottle collection myself, I literally gasped when I saw it. Thanks for sharing.

I'm hosting a Throwback Thursdays Party, and would love it if you swung by and linked up something you made/bought/did from before blogging. I can't wait to see what you bring.

My favorite green in the house is sage. My favorite green is when the corn stalks are fully grown around the farms where we live. Just lush and beautiful! My favorite time of year.

Hello my friend,
Right now I am loving jade green, exactly the shade of the vintage refrigerator. I would so love to add that to my house. Actually, when we were tearing out our old kitchen, what should I find behind wallpaper and such? Jade green patches, so my kitchen was that green at one time.
Great series, I am loving all of them!
Hugs, Cindy
