Picture Perfect

Via
Isn't it nice that we no longer live in the day where everything has to be picture perfect? Growing up,  I attended many Home Interior parties with my mom. They would make a "grouping," usually consisting of a picture, 2 sconces and a shelf.  We probably would have thought something like this was a mess.

It's nice to have the pressure off and just hang what you like. By the way, if anyone has tips on how to photograph a picture under glass, please share. This room has open sunlight in the day and a light fixture at night. Both reflect.

I found this great fox hunt picture, navy blue mat and all at a local antique market. Marked down to $16. Sold!

This is all I will do for now. We have someone interested in our house and we haven't even put a sign up yet! Hoping and praying!

More on the photo storage and resizing issues - Two more suggestions made: join Google+ to acquire more free storage or embed your photos from a host site like Flickr.

I thought it would make things easier by downloading Picasa. However, it proceeded to download every single photo and file off my computer. Felt very invasive! I'm sure there was an opt out button somewhere in the original process that I missed. Seems crazy that you'd have to go into the tools menu to opt out for each of your files. I can't be worrying about that. I'll go back to Picnik for now or just skip this whole ordeal of resizing!

I'll ditto what everyone else has said about the fox hunt picture - great find and at a great, almost giveaway price!

It's wonderful to surround yourself with the things you love. You've done that and still have an appealing home.

I hope you find your answer to photographing "glassed" pictures. I've noticed that problem too on the rare occasion that I photograph wall with a pic.

I'm sure you'll let us know when your house sells!!!

Love all of the photo displays. Great deal on the fox picture.
I did a new post, and tried to resize my photos before but I have a new computer and couldn't find where to do it! So no resizing for the post, :{ I will have to figure out another new thing!

I wonder if your camera gives you an option on the size of your photos. I bet it does

I know what you mean about Pic... I felt very invaded when I by mistake downloaded it. I don't find it the friendliest or easiest program to use but it can make a nice mosaic. As far as photographing over glass--I would say do not use a flash and maybe take the pic out of the bright light where it is reflected. Other than than, hmmm.

I would think you could find pansies on sale right now and they would last you a month or two--until it gets really, really hot. Right now they are just gorgeous!

I do remember those home parties...my mom had an arrangement above her sofa for years, a big picture and sconces on each side. And yes, she would think wall galleries are a fright! lol! I think these images are wonderful and I love what you did yourself! Good luck with the house!

Jane

The grouping of photos is a mystery to me. Sometimes I like it, and sometimes it looks like a big mess to me. However, I do like the last image of the grouping above the cozy couch!

Your home is gorgeous...I'm not surprised that someone is interested. Great deal on the photo & frame! I love it when folks have their homes as they wish, not as some designer or the world says to do this or that.

Hello dear friend,
I love your dining room, the pictures on your wall look marvelous!
I also love all of the images of pictures arranged so artfully on walls. If you study them, you realize that there is a right way to group pictures. I need to learn more in that area.
I love the Fox Hunt picture, it's perfect for your room and your style. I love the style that you have going, it's very classy!
I used ipiccy the last time that I posted and it re-sized all of my photos for me. And I was able to watermark them.
Have a great day, I'm praying these people buy your beautiful house!
Hugs, Cindy
Enjoy your day!

Love your grouping -and your hunter green paint! Beautiful! I had a grouping that I loved going down purr stairway...every time someone went down the steps, one was knocked askew. Sheez. Had to take them down!

I adore that last picture. How awesome would it be if you sold your house without even listing it? I will keep my fingers crossed and say an extra prayer. Have a good week dear!
