My secret pillow store? Goodwill. At first I was apprehensive about buying a used pillow. But after seeing such great bargains for quality pillows, I decided a little sanitizing would do the trick. Doc says most germs have already died anyway, but my germ-a-phobic self lightly sprays with Lysol.
Here are some GW goodies, all under $4-
These will rotate throughout the house.
Love the soothing color and texture of this gray-blue one. In the background is one of my favs, a Mary Englebriet, given by a friend-
Today's featured pillows- Pier One.
I always think of Pier One's style as Bohemian. However, many of their pillows work with just about any style. The average cost is about $25-$35 but this Pier One paisley was only $2 at GW.
Here's some pillow love from Pier One.

I love your Goodwill pillows. I have not had much luck in finding pretty pillows at Goodwill. But I did find a couple of brand new pillow forms and a whole bag of poly-fill for next to nothing.
LOVE pillows! I too got over my yuck factor with second hand pillows and buy them when I find them.....AND I don't necessarily choose just the pretty ones. I also get those with great bones and good shape and use them as pillow forms for handmade pillows. Much cheaper than buying pillow forms at the fabric or bobby stores.
Looking forward to all your pillow posts :)
Blessings!
Gail
I LOVE pillows! I always head for the pillows at Pier One and I like to make pillow covers now to change my look! I love the ones you've found at GW! Enjoy your day! ♥
Wow, you've got some great pillows there! :)
Looks like you found some good ones! I do love pillows, I think all women do..it's a comfort, pretty thing! ;D
That reminds me that I need some new bed pillows. AS soon as my check arrives, I'll be going shopping!
That is funny that you did a post on thrifted pillows-I was just thinking about buying some from Goodwill but couldn't bring myself to do so because I too, am a germ-a-phobe! I will have to do it now since you found such great pillows! Thanks for the "ok" on this!!

I love pillows! Glad I'm not the only one.

i'm a germ-a-phobic too so i never bought any pillows except new, but i may have to rethink my objection.....yeah, i'd still keep the lysol close. :)
My daughter, Chelsea, is painting her room in a more grown up color scheme....from purple to tan and brown. She is excited about adding lots of color in her accessories. Changing them up with the seasons. Pillows are key to her plan.
Obviously your Goodwill carries much better things than mine does. I don't think I've even ever seen a pillow there. I do love pillows and Pier 1 is a favorite place of mine to shop for pillows although...they are expensive. I have one from there that I bought on sale.
I get a lot of pillows at Ross. There you can get a cute pillow for $5 -$7. I was just thinking I wanted to make myself some springtime pillows.
I, of course, really like the envelope pillow and the ME one. You are right, they add a lot to our decor. Great finds!
You found some good ones, that's for sure! Love the applicaed one. Great finds! I decided after Christmas that I wanted to change and refresh so changed out 8 pillows and it gave the house a new flavor but I paid big bucks at T J Maxx...ha!
Great finds. I know it's not the way to go with every throw pillow, but I actually wash mine, stuffing and all. Delicate cycle, low heat drying. Never lost one yet. ;)
I'am glad you are back posting! Hope your trip was good! I was just looking at my pillows today thinking I wanted to add some more...I 'm just not sure what to add...thanks for the inspiration.
Hi Tammy!
I was always a little freaked out to buy thrift store pillows. Well, I overcame that very quickly this past summer. I got a bunch of gorgeous pillows in wonderful shape for a #1.00 each at Salvation Army. Several of them I was able to throw in the wash. The others, I did the same as you did. Sprayed them with Lysol and let them air out in the sun.
I love pillows, too. I use them in every room, even the kitchen, on the chairs. You are so right about it being an inexpensive way to change out the colors of a room. You have some lovely pillows!
Love and hugs, Cindy
I love pillows too. It's so easy to change out the look of the sofa with just a new set of pillows. I've bought pillows at garage sales, not sure if I've ever bought one from Goodwill though. Same difference I guess.
I viewed them in reverse order but I loved the pillow series. I too am a bit of a germ phobic so I have never bought pillows there but yesterday I came close to buying a coverlet. Too bad I did not read your post sooner, you probably would have convinced me to buy it.

I'd be more concerned about bedbugs or such critters. Throw them in the dryer. The heat will kill anything.
