A Stroll By The River

The Savannah River runs through downtown Augusta, GA. After having lived in Savannah, we were a bit disappointed to visit downtown Augusta when we first arrived. It is a much smaller river walk and there are no cute shops nor fun restaurants, at least directly on the path.

The positive thing is it's not a touristy place No crowds. A really peaceful place to go for a leisurely walk.

or a relaxing place to sit.
Most of you will probably not come to Augusta unless you are planning on going to the Masters so I'm sharing some scenes from our recent family photo jaunt.
I wonder if someone who plays in the Masters owns one of those lovely homes over there?
The neighborhood we live in was planned by Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Gary Player. The Champions Retreat Golf Course is located in the gated part. {I live outside the gates.} Membership to the club is by invitation only.  We haven't received an invitation yet. wink wink
My pick is the pink house.  It stands out from all the rest.
It's been a while, but Happy Pink Saturday!

I'd say that's just good party manners.

Bloggy Wisdom

"Be yourself, everyone else is taken."

During my recent giveaway, I asked friends to share the best blogging tip they've ever received or learned.  There were so many good ones, I've decided to share them one at a time -  now referred to as "bloggy wisdom."

The above quote is by Julie of The Harward's Circle Cliff Views.

Annamarie's Home Tour Finale

Welcome back to Annamarie's home.
Lace. Ruffles. Treasures. Tulle. Roses. Pearls. Vintage goodness.
Are you ready to continue on this romantic journey?
If you missed the first two parts of the tour, go here and here.

It's time to meet the pretty lady...
Annamarie and husband Ralph
So for all of you who didn't think a man could live there, think again.  Aren't they a beautiful couple?

Here are quoted texts by Annamarie to me, because like you, I wondered.  I wondered a lot of things and she always was gracious and funny with her answers.

"My sister Mary and I used to own a cottage store in Florida, it was our dream after our mom passed away. Our store and my home were featured in Country Living Magazine in the April 2006 issue, "Rose Patterned Home Decor."  The co-editor, Jane Dagmi, came to my home and shop. It was so exciting. "

"I now live in North Carolina.  This is my dream world. There is so much more, even other bathrooms and another bedroom."

"Yes, I'm a neat freak and I don't stop cleaning! But I love it.  However, I do use my house.  I entertain all the time, love to have tea parties, bbq's and dinner parties."

"I know so many people ask how does your husband live in this house. He thinks it's romantic, like a bed and breakfast! His motto is happy wife, happy life!"

"I just love all the comments!  I love living in our shabby chic home and all the beautiful people in it."

Finally, the most anticipate answer. Will she have a blog? "You make it look so easy, maybe one day soon I will start one." (She's the one who makes it look easy with all these pretty photos.)  You can check out her Ebay shop, Bocarose.

It's a small world after all...

It started out with this photo which I included in a post not long ago, via Country Living.
Shortly after, I received the nicest email from a lady named Annamarie saying, "I think that book is mine."  To be honest, at first I was thinking who is this person claiming a magazine photo?  But then, the story started unfolding and to my delight, I met the sweetest friend. All from one little picture.
Turns out, these belong to Annamarie too.
And this...
Wow.  Her home was featured in Country Living, one of my favorite magazines.

It gets better.  She so graciously sent me her own photos of her home.  I was like a kid in a candy store!
Welcome to Annamarie's cottage and gardens.

Annamarie has sent me so many gorgeous photos, too many to post at once. So I'm inviting you back next weekend for an inside tour.
Not only does she collect all this pretty stuff, she sells it too! (Ebay seller name- bocarose)
Boca Rose has been B-listed. Unfortunately, Annamarie doesn't have a blog but I think she should, don't you?
