Christmas at B's and Some Bloggy Business

Is it too late?  I've been somewhat overindulgent on everyone else's  beautiful Christmas decor posts and am slow to post mine. As mentioned before, moving has a way of taking the "box unpacking" right out of you so we scaled back this year.  Here are a few glimpses of Christmas cheer around our home.

On another note, I just reached over 200 followers! Yay!  I'm so appreciative of each and everyone of you dear friends.  You're the best!

Can I go ahead and take care of some blog business?  Hate to waste space and time but maybe you can help me with these-

1.  I know this has been posted on other blogs, but for the love of B, could you please take that word verification thingy off your comments?  Sometimes I may leave up to 50 or more comments in one day.  That thingy slows me down to the point of frustration.  Especially when I ( the one who needs reading glasses but holding out in the name of youth) type in the wrong code and have to start all over again!  Sometimes the numbers or letters are so tight, it's a headache to decipher.Maybe there's a reason for the word verification. Please enlighten me.  For security purposes, there's always the option of putting settings on owner approval.  If it's just your personal preference, of course, I will deal with it and buy a pair of glasses.  This is not directed at anyone in particular.  I can't even remember who has the verification and who doesn't.  Hope this doesn't offend anyone.  I figure you don't know until you ask.  Does anyone else out there not like word verification?

2.  I follow a lot of folks.  When people follow me back, I want to stay in touch with their blogs.  Hence, I have a "daily reads" list.  If you do not see your name on that list located on my right sidebar, it's b/c I couldn't find your blog name after you signed up to follow. Some do not have a blog link on his/her profile page or there's a glitch somewhere. Pretty please, with sugar on top, leave me a comment with your blog name/address if you'd like it added to that list so I can visit often.  Otherwise, my visits will be scarce.  Too many blogs out there to keep up with!
If you're already on the list, I'll try to visit as often as possible.  If you don't hear from me, it's b/c life got busy. Don't give up on me, I'll be back.

Thanks for letting me have my say!
Please have a cookie and a smile!

Ha ha ha ha ha............I just figured out how to change my header so the verification thingy, if I have it, may take a while. Beautiful, simple Christmas decor, my favorite!! It looks wonderful.

Your Christmas decor is beautiful! I have the same reindeer. I can so relate to the joy of unpacking boxes being gone. I went easy this year for that very reason. We just moved less than a month ago. Ugh!

Amen on the word verification Tammy! Makes it so much slower to get around and visit everyone.

Your decorations are lovely and I totally understand the scale back concept....that would be me this year :)

Blessings!
Gail

P.S. I am older than you (turned 50 this year) and I held out for reading glasses until I was 45...wish I hadn't held out so long. Just saying :)

I loved seeing all of your beautiful Christmas decor Tammy - so elegant. And I couldn't agree more about the word verification! It's just so darn frustrating and one of the easiest things to fix. I hope you get the word out.
Thanks!

Kim

Okay Tammy...you're the one that has finally convinced me to take off word verification. :) I'll try to get it done today.

I haven't done it because I wonder if it is protecting me from SPAM. I never get SPAM. Sooo, we'll see.

Without my dollar store reading classes, I probably wouldn't be able to decipher the letters either.

How long does it take to put up all those love decorations? hours? days? :)

Tammy! Your decorations are beautiful!! I understand scaling back because of the move, since we are in the process of moving our selves!!
I hate that work verification thingy too!

I also hate the word verification! Even worse is when I submit my comment and am about to click away when I notice another box has come up with the word thingy in it. Frustrating! I am sure a lot of comments have not appeared because I miss that sometimes!

I would love for you to stop by my blog again when you can! Yearofhomeandhealth.blogspot.com

Your decorating is beautiful! I love the picture frame on the tree as well as your tree topper. My tree is definitely kid friendly and I love that it is, but I do look forward to the day that I can have a prettier tree again!

Go TAMMY, GO TAMMY!! Girl, you've said it and said it well. No Word Verification. Sometimes I may be at a blog or a post that I love, but don't comment because the word verification is so darn long and time consuming.

Love your holiday decorations.

Your house looks fab! And yes, the word verifying is frustrating...I don't think I have it on mine anymore (I too need to wear my glasses but refuse to wear them on a chain so I always lose them around the house)...

I'm going to check and see if I am on your list....

OK, since you gave me a cookie, I took the word verification thingy off. I do have moderation on but a friend had her blog address hacked and it sent out Vi..ra ads to everyone who had commented on her posts. That was when I put it back on.

Loved your tree. It looks very vintage and pretty. Ok- now pass the cookies...lol...

Beautiful decorations and I didn't realized you moved, too! Now I know why you understand my loss of the Christmas tree and your comment about moving!! It is always nice to know you're not alone!
Couldn't agree more on the comment verification and trying to comment back, but can't find their blog! Wonderful post and hope you are having a great day, too!

Lovely! And I enjoyed the cookies as well.

I just recently took off word verification when I found out I had a "spam" protector all along. So far, all has been fine and I don't miss those strange words that pop up.

Best,
Bonnie

I don't know if I have word verification, but if I do, it's not stopping the Russian Spammers! I also don't know if I'm on your daily reads list 'cause there are just too many for me to skim. Hard to believe I teach reading all day since I can't do it by 5:00 each night. Wait, that's probably why, my eyes are worn out!

Your home looks golden! Much rather would see your digs than those from magazines. Real matters.

Hi there, I made the same cookies! Mind in in a crescent shape, but it's very much like it. I have the same problem locating the people who follows sometimes to, and even after I sent them an email, there was no response, I guess they don't care to get the support back. :-)

Karen said...

I don't think I have it~~~~and I HOPE I DON'T. I HATE IT!!!!! After typing umpteen words and hitting click and almost ready to exit & scroll down & low & behold it did not even publish, because there was word verification on there. YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD! I don't think this thing does one bit of good. Please tell me I don't have it. I can't remember when I sat it up & sure as the world don't know how to go & check.

All of your holiday decorations look super and I can understand scaling back...I have done a bit of the too over the past few years. I agree about the word verification, it was one of the first things I removed from my blog. Thank you also for visiting me and leaving such a nice comment.(-: Merry Christmas.

Tammy,
I'm sitting here online multi-tasking with the cable company's holiday Jazzy music. Thought I'd pop in and have a cookie while I'm waiting.

Love the decor.

I just added your blog as me following yours. Can you do the same for mine.

Hugs, Viola over at www.alongawidowedroad.blogspot.com

Hi Tammy, Your Christmas decorations are just beautiful. I love the second picture! I'm with you, I too hate the word verification task added on to the comments. Thanks for saying something. *hugs*

Lovely decor, Tammy.

I agree about word verification. Used to have it, hoping to ward off SPAM comments, but have never had any SPAM, with or without word verification. Fingers crossed.

Maybe one day I'll be brave and post about my dislike for music on blogs. I read blogs at night a lot, or in early morning hours, and I don't like to be blasted with music out of nowhere. I always jump sky high and immediately click off the blog. Not only is it the surprise effect that annoys me, but music is such a personal taste. What one likes, the other may not. Just a personal pet peeve. Thanks for letting me take over your blog here. LOL!

Tammy your home is gorgeous for the holidays.

I know what you mean. WV drives me batty too. It really is not needed since blogger added the comment verification thingy a few months ago.
It does slow comments down from others. I'm sure some don't even realize that.

Happy weekend! ~Melissa :)

Your tree is gorgeous and so is the rest of your Christmas decor. I have been hoping for a chance to see what you do at Christmas time, but thought perhaps you were too busy, I'm glad you're not.
I didn't have the word verification on my blog at one time and some 30 or more Chinese were sending messages through it or something, not sure, but I could not read their replies that went on and on, but when I clicked onto their link it went to a website trying to sell some kind of Chinese merchandise. So I put the w/v back on. Then I was reading over at Funky Junk and she explained that if you have each comment sent to your email address that you could keep up with that kind of thing there and stop it quickly and that you would no longer need the w/v, so that is what I do and I no longer have w/v. Anyways, I know exactly what you mean about making it difficult for comments, I hope it will help me, as well, to receive more comments.
Love and hugs, Cindy

Hello. Oh I know what you mean about Word Verification. Things go so smoothly when you don't have to type in the verification too. I'm a busy mom. :) I love everything you shared with us. Beautiful!
