With the rising cost of gas, this may be our future transportation.

I'm actually looking forward to riding my bike now that the weather is warmer. It's great exercise.
Since bicycles are on my brain, I went on a search for pretty ones.

Isn't she a beauty? Of course, the beach helps.
My bike is red but I'd love a pink one. Or a blue and pink one.
This is my dream...

I found the most delightful blog, The Painted Garden.
Erin has a vintage bike in her gorgeous garden.
Not only is she a great gardener, she is a very talented artist.
You can view her beautiful art here.
I hope this little tour brought you some spring time joy.

I had the cool bike with the white basket. I loved it soooo much. So many hours spent on that bike! Thanks for the memories.
As an ex cyclist.. I am in love with this post!!!
Go with an Electra if you want a beach cruiser~ I too grew up in the 70's and had a similar bike! Fantastic pics you have for this post!

This reminds me of last December. I went to a garage sale in the dead of winter. Very unusual. There was a white bike with many baskets for only $1. I so wanted it for my garden and they wanted me to have it. But I didn't buy it. Why? Because I have to learn to love some things from afar or else my home will look like a hoarders place. I still think of that bike.
LOVED this post!! So great, I can't believe you found so many beautiful bikes to post! I have my bike I painted aqua and can't wait to set it up in the garden, lots of ideas here for me!
yes, i had the same bike with the basket, her name is Miss Buzz and I still have her! Maybe I better restore her!
A bike with a basket, I want one please! Lovely!

Hello,
I absolutely love all these photos. And yes, if we could all rid a bike around it would be a much healthier way of living...
~ Gabriela ~
I want a basket, too! Maybe the romanticism of riding with flowers would actually get me to ride my bike. Lovely pics! Thanks for sharing.
Hi,
I love your post on charming bicycles. Thank you for including my bicycle.
Blessings,
Erin
Good morning my sweet friend,
I want a pink one or wait, maybe a turquoise one and I will need to make myself a flowered skirt, then I am off! Okay, I have a bike, so perhaps I should get some pink spray paint and then I can ride in style!!! Very fun post, I am LOVING the pinks, blues and greens I am seeing, so very pretty and SPRINGy!
Love and hugs, Cindy
I never had a bike as a kid, can you believe that?! I want one of these so bad..love the baskets and flowers...awesome! ;D
Such great colors on all those bikes, I wouldn't even mind riding around on one if it was that pretty!
Tammy, what wonderful eye candy!! I love my bike; have had one since my first PINK Schwinn... happy memories!
Oh yes mam, my child hood bicycle had a basket, with big plastic flower on it. Those were the days, weren't they! I would have to have a basket if I had another bike to carry my little Sophie around in. She goes most everywhere I go. I can just see us now, lol.
Oh, how I wish I was on one of those bikes in a fabulous ruffly skirt. My hair blowing and my basket filled with beautiful flowers and fresh produce from the outdoor French market! lol!
Love the post...my bike looks like the one in the 8th pic...sad thing is...I don't get to ride it much anymore...we have way too many hills here in my neighborhood...I had the bike at our beach house (where it is flat) and loved riding it all around the island...now after we sold that house...it just stays put in my screen porch.
Blessings,
Linda
Love these pictures, Tammy!! The one with the flower petals on the tires is adorable!! I have an old pink Schwinn up at the lake. I have often thought of attaching a basket of flowers and using it for show. I can't imagine myself on a bike like any of these...people would call me crazy {if they don't already!!}. Have a great day!
Xo,
Jane
I love this collection of bike images! Makes me want to go for a ride right now as we are having a beautiful day!
LOVE this post, what great pics you found!!! My bike was my life as a kid....traveled many miles!!! hugs to you....cleo
I never know what I'll find when I visit your blog! For some reason I love to photograph bicycles and I really enjoyed these photos. I also enjoy riding my bike! Great post! BTW my husband rode his bike to the drive up window at our bank one time. He really got some looks! :-)
Great post Tammy! You are so right. I need to get my little bike out of the building and get the dust off of it. I have a little basket in the front to and my doggies ride around with me. So Fun!
I had a purple bike with the banana seat back in the 70's!
My hubby and son make fun of me because i want a powder blue Electra bike with a basket!!!! I have wanted one for years. Now that we live on the island it's alot harder to ride because the roads are sooo hilly!
I want the same outfit as you too Tammy! Boy we share alot of the same tastes!
Tammy, I love beautiful bicycles and I love this post! Such terrific photos...I love the wonderful baskets.Fabulous post!
Ann-Marie
What adorable bikes. Not because of the economy (hehe), but The Man and I are in the market for new bikes to carry with us in our travels. I love the old-fashioned kind.
I think there are those who won't be happy until we're all on bicycles or horses.
I love all the pretty bikes you found! Didn't know there were so many girly bikes ;-) I have a wicker bicycle basket and since I don't ride anymore I use it for flowers. Last summer I painted it heirloom white ;-) Great post!
Hi Tammy Sweetie...
Oh what fun. Weeeeeeee. Hang on we are going down this hill fast. Oh my gosh, left turn girlfriend, left turn. WOW that one was scary. Oh what fun. I can feel the morning breeze through my hair, and the sun is on my face. I feel so wonderful, just like a kid again. I have always loved riding my bike. What fun it is.
I hope you are having a wonderful day sweet one. I SO love to come and visit. What fun we have together. This one was one of the best. My bike is 3-wheeler (Adult trike) and I have a basket on back. I love riding in the park. When diabetes took away most of the feeling in my feet, and my balance became poor, I went to my 3 wheeler and I love it. It is not robbing me of all the fun that I love to do. Biking being one.
Many hugs sweet one, and SO much love, Sherry
Tammy... great bike photo finds. What lovely pics... made me think of awesome summer days riding my bike around the neighbor. The best moments ever! Thanks for the sweet memories!
I love it!! You actually reminded me of an old white bike that is attached to a post on 48th street in NYC. I just came from visiting my daughter and this vintage white bike is attached to a post in the middle of nowhere. It is the 2nd time I see it...so next time I will photograph it or ask my daughter to take a picture. amazing how in such a large city they have respected and kept this vintage bike someone must have put there not to long ago.. It is in front of the UN plaza so it is not someone's curb side appeal. someone actually plants flowers in the basket. I would love to know the story behind it???
Nice post and I love your blog. I am from Montreal and of course "je suis bilingue." we have a lot of European influence in our Province.
hope you can drop by my blog
A la prochaine

Great shots, Tammy. I also went over to the Painted Garden and loved looking at all the splashes of color.Great blog! Thanks for sharing. Susan
How pretty are all of these bikes?! I'll take the one with the baby :)
These are so beautiful! I am in need of a new bike and any of these would be perfect and of course with a basket! I had a bike very similar to your growing up too. I loved the banana seats. :)
So cool! I want that yellow and white one!
Tammy, I've never seen so many beautiful bikes on one post! Thanks so for sharing them all!
Yep, mine was a banana seat bike, too!

Loved your post with all those beautiful vintage and pretty bikes. Would be nice to have one in the garden. Thanks for sharing them all.
Hi Tammy, I just love this post. All of these lovely vintage bikes and the flowers. My favorite is the pink bike with the tulips. Thanks so much for posting all of these. We are dreaming of warmer days over here!
Marianne :)
Visiting your blog, is a respite for the spirit.
FYI! I was a child in the 70s too, and had that same bicycle. I actually miss it now and then.
I don't think I'll ever look at a bike the same way again. Your pictures make them look like works of art. When we were kids, my brother had one of those bikes with the "banana" seat. I had my own girly bike, but always wanted to ride his. I'll never forget going down a big hill with his bike when the handle bars came off.
Thanks for sharing these beauties and for visiting with me.
Hallo Tammy, I'm happy to have you as a new follower! I'm ok, but sadly I lost my best friend last monday...
Thank you for your words
Have a good day
Silvia
Hi Tammy, thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm just loving all the beautiful images you have here! My husband is an avid cyclist, I think he would appreciate this, hehe! I'll be back soon, I'm your newest follower :)
These are just dreamy! Your blog always causes me to drift out and daydream....maybe that's one reason I love it!
My husband is a mountain biker, so he has this really souped up professional bike. He wants us to ride together, so we went to look at bikes one day, and I was picking out the bright colors and talking about what basket I wanted. He hasn't really mentioned the bike since! :)
Kelly
ooooh such gorgeous cycle eye candy.
thanks for visiting--your blog is a lovely feast! i think the image of the pooch in the basket was my favorite.
like you, i'm inspired to get on my bike again.

Oh MY GOSH! I'm so glad you popped into my blog and commented. Thanks you for the sweet comments and OF COURSE, even though you live in GA you are a TEXAN (always!) The pics of the bicycles are awesome and at each one I said....OH...i Like THAT ONE! Your profile is exactly how I feel and you sound like we could be soul sistas'! I've added myself to follow your blog too. Isn't blogging great...I can't wait to check out the rest of your blog and check out your favorite's list too!
What a cute post! 70's and banana seats... you have to love that! I had a basket and a bell. I was so proud of that bike. Wish I had the energy to ride one the way I did as a kid. You have me thinking I need to shake the dust off of mine :) There is something so romantic and enticing about a vintage bike with a basket full of flowers.
Enjoyed the pictures! I Heart your blog, haha!
I love all of the wonderful photos you found of bikes! You could have put me in this post! lol I love my bike! ♥
I will take one by the beach, one with a sweet baby in the basket, one with some gorgeous Hydrangea's, and one in the garden. Gorgeous photos! Makes me want a cool vintage bike!

What a beautiful bike tour! I just picked up a vintage bike basket this week; I can't wait to fill it with flowers. My daughter and son-in-law love biking. He rides his to work whenever he can.
Have a great weekend.

Oh be still my heart!! I have a pattern to weave a basket for my bike. I think I may have to pull out all my supplies and get to work. Love the baby!!
Happy Pink Saturday, Char
The pink bike with the tulips in the basket looks very similar to the one my husband bought me this fall for my birthday...complete with the pink...and the basket!! It's just about riding weather here. Can't wait! :)

Good Morning, it seems like its been forever since I have talked to you, but I have been busy trying to get a little online business set up so it has been taking up most of my time. I am going to be featured in Beverly's Pink Saturday next week and I am so excited, but nervous also.
I just love your post today. If it is ok with you, can I use your pink bike saying? I just love that. Thanks for sharing.
Have a wonderful PS and an awesome week.
Hugs, CindyLew

It's true what they say, "Great minds think alike." I almost did my Pink Saturday post about bikes too! LOL! Your post is just dreamy and I love your taste of the photos you selected. The stingray bike with the polo seat from the 1970's look almost exactly like mine...what great memories. Hope you have a fabulous week!!! :O)
Hi Tammy
How are you doing? I've missed seeing you :)
Love this post, I would take anyone of those bikes, plus the flowers. What a way to travel!!! I can't believe the price on gas, maybe this summer it might not be a bad idea to ride the bike to work :)
Have a Happy Pink Saturday :)
hugs
Manni
Alright, I am totally blaming you since I now feel the strong NEED to get a cute little cruiser bike!!
Thx for the memories. I had a burgandy & pink bike with a silver basket. Beat many of the boys on that ole girl. Wish I had her now.
