A Girl and Her Umbrella

For many of us, it's rainy weather. A girl needs her umbrella.
Want to see some pretty ones?

You can find vintage umbrellas at places like Ebay and Etsy.  Here's one from my friend Amy's Etsy shop, All Things Home.

Many umbrellas...

Have you ever had any of these mishaps?
Can't find my umbrella.
Umbrella won't open.
Umbrella won't close.
Umbrella turns inside out in wind.
Umbrella collapses on my head.
Hair gets caught in umbrella.
Umbrella blows away.
Inside arm(s) breaks and umbrella is droopy on one side.
Put umbrella outside of building to dry and forgot it.
(Share) with my kids while I get wet.
Sat on a wet umbrella.
Stepped on an umbrella.
And the worst- pinched my finger on an umbrella!

Very sweet!!! So many pretty umbrellas to choose from. I think I like the ruffled ones the best.
It is beautiful and sunny here!
Hugs for your rainy day!

I'll take mine with ruffles, please! One thing I miss about living in the mid west. We rarely get a good old fashioned thunderstorm in CO. Love the photo of them hanging from the strings of lights. Beautiful quote, too. I don't think you can appreciate the sun, without the rain.

Have a good one!

~M

OK...all of those things have happened to me with umbrellas! I just got back from Paris and felt like the girl in the first photo...although the weather was mostly great. How cute are those cocktail umbrellas? I want them!

Seeing these gorgeous patterned and colorful umbrellas makes me realize I need to replace my boring black umbrella with something more exciting- and maybe add a cute pair of rainboots! I love Cath Kidston things!

You left out the bane of my umbrella existence--leaving it every where I go!!

Hey I wonder what it must be like to be under all those black umbrellas! My husband used to routinely get an umbrella every Christmas because he is known for leaving them wherever he takes them.

Also, here in the south we use them at ball games when the sun is intense, and sometimes for taking a walk in the sun. When I was a kid we were in a hurricane and all the adult umbrellas turned inside out. I'll never forget that my sturdy little kid one stayed intact and served its purpose!

So pretty Tammy! The garden centre where I buy all my annuals decorate with all brightly colored umbrellas.
In our house we're usually trying to find where we left the umbrellas, which is a little crazy considering it rains here all the time!

We were looking for a special umbrella to use as a prop for Chelsea's senior pics. I thought we would just get one for a couple of dollars...and then we got a reality check. Umbrellas are certainly an art form all their own.

You made beautiful choices to share.

Love all the umbrellas, but the ruffled ones are especially cute!

Great images! Personally, I think an umbrella is more work than it is worth. I have one in the car; toted one all over Europe, but haven't used one for years! Sally
