Graduation Time

Time for graduation celebrations! Congrats to all the 2011 graduates!

First, I'd like to thank each of you who have sent well wishes and prayers for little Gavin. He was diagnosed with hepatoblastoma, a rare form of cancer (odds=1.5 in a million.)  But thank God it's treatable.  He is having a port put in today and chemo starts tomorrow.  Please pray that the chemo will shrink the tumor down to nothing so they can remove it surgically, avoiding a liver transplant. I have relayed all of the kind comments to the family and it really lifted their spirits. Doctors gave no hope in the beginning but God has intervened and we are thankful for this miracle!

What's a graduation without a party?
These fruit displays were created by my friend for her son's graduation party.

Next year will be monumental for us when Doc graduates.  I've already started an idea file because we are gonna par-tay!

Creative invitation...

Graduation reminds us that school is out.  My kids have been out for one day and I've already heard the word "bored."

I'll start at the bottom...when my boys said they were bored I told them that bored kids get to wash walls until they come up with something better to do.
What great party ideas. I absolutely love anything monkey and the eggplant dude is awesome.
We can all take our healthy kids for granted and I sure send positive thoughts for your friends child.

Love your graduation photos. I like the one with the typewriter. My son just graduated high school. That is hard to believe. And I have a 6 yr old that says I'm bored a lot! LOL

Such cute ideas -- love the "Welcome to Summer" banner. I wanted to share this fun "Geeky Graduation" themed party I just did for my brother who received his Computer Science degree: http://www.supermommoments.com/2011/05/geeky-graduation/

I love all of the great par-tay ideas, your friends are very inventive. I'm sure you are really looking forward to your hubby graduating, perhaps life can settle down then.
I am so glad to hear a bit of good news about Gavin. We have friends whose 10 month old boy was diagnosed with a tumor in his right kidney, then a month later his left kidney also had one. He has gone through five months of chemo and radiation and he still has several months to go. Things are looking up for him, though. Though weak and tired, he has been such a happy little soul. We have all been praying for the little sweetie and I know God has heard and answered. And that same God is holding Gavin in His hands.
Hugs, Cindy

Tammy, the fruit characters are the best. Your friend is so talented. These are about as cute as I've ever seen. May I share these images with a friend who caters parties? Very clever. Great idea to start a file of ideas. ~ Sarah

Wish Gavin will fully recover soon. Just said a prayer for him and hope he's not suffering too much. May God be with him every step of the way to fight this battle.

I really admired your talent on those fruit and veggie crafts! So artistic! Thank you for sharing.

By the way, I'm hosting 2 Giveaways on my blog, please stop by to enter when you have a chance. One for $50 Thrive products and another one for baking molds and more. Have a wonderful weekend.
