Almost

I love to make a house a home.  And I'm getting a new project!  Never mind that I didn't finish this current one.
I've been reluctant to write the words, "we're moving" because there were so many unknowns.   It's official.  We are moving back to the Brownsfield. Yes, we did sell the house but in a lease purchase, the buyers can opt out and they did.  Let's just say we found the house a lot different than we left it.  But I don't want to even talk about it today.  Ranting can come later.
Step into my sunroom, the room that was "almost" decorated.  It was last on the list at The Borrowed House. Now it will never be completed.  The decor is a mix of vintage and modern pieces so I'm posting to my friend Nita's new linky party, Mod Mix Monday.
Good thing I kept my boots by the door.  Actually, I've moved them from the front door to the back.  I guess that's symbolic too.
The boots even provided the color inspiration for the room.
I recently hit a winning streak with giveaways.  Every prize worked out perfectly in this space.  But it'll be fun to make them work in new spaces too.
A Cozy Cup of Tea sponsered a giveaway on Burlap and Blue and I won!  Kristina makes incredible pillows.

Hard decision but I settled on the silhouette. Don't you love the ticking?
Couldn't resist these darling number tags so I bought them to be included in my package.

Yay me! I won another giveaway from Timeless N Chic over on Type A.  This cute blue shelf...
and this spring candle holder made by Courtney.  Isn't it so clever?

I'm enjoying putting little treasures on the rustic shelf.

Stacy from Stacy's Shabby Shoppe sent this vintage ballerina cupcake topper in yet another giveaway.  She couldn't have known how much I'd love it.  Red headed!  My heart, my daughter.

In addition to the Scrabble "home" letters, Tracey from Raggy Girl Vintage sent the sweetest wrapped friendship package with all these other goodies below.  Love how the ballerina theme serendipitously happened.

I've already told each of them, but thanks again girls!  I'm blessed!

In looking back...

I've learned a lot this past year.  I fought so hard against being in my current place in the beginning.  Seems almost foolish now.

You can only move when the door opens.
Although things have not been easy, good things have happened too.  My family has grown in love and understanding.  We've made new friends and experienced new things, even were featured in the news and newspaper (our brief moment of stardom.)
I found some great places, like antique stores and flea markets, of course.
This $15 chair cleaned up really well.  The matching dreamy sofa will need reupholstering, but it was only $55!
Good things.

Our family motto-

Let the packing begin!

Thanks for linking up. Look at that a Beatrice Banks pillow. I love that. And I hadn't seen that chair you thrifted. It is fantastic especially with the pink pillow in it. Good luck on your move. I have to say though you didn't wan to be there...it looks to be a very nice house. I'll be anxious to see how you are back in the other place. When is the big move?

Yes Tammy, I have had to move so many times, and many times it was a challenge, but always when together it is home. And thats what makes good moms great, when they can provide the nest for their little birds. So nice to see pics of your nest, even though you are flying off again!

Excellent post and I enjoyed seeing into your home. I can hardly wait to see what you do with your new/old place. Although moving probably won't be fun...the end result will be worth it. Just keep looking forward...Have a great week.

A wonderful post. I used to move a lot but it's been 12 wonderful years in one place. All the best to you in the move, and you will make the best of it! And from what I know of you, you will enjoy new decorating challenges in your old home.

The sunroom looks terrific and I know you'll bring that same flair to your new old house. Can't wait to see the changes you make with the house after the move.

Oh my dear, dear friend, We live and learn, don't we. Life is really just one long lesson...then when someone is going through something we have gone through we can reach back and recall what took place and what we learned and pass it on...right? I hope so, anyways.
Your room is beautiful and CONGRATULATIONS on all of the wins! I am so happy for you, it could not have happened to a sweeter, nicer, dearer lady!
Love and hugs, Cindy

I am wishing you the best, Tammy! We never know where the road will lead us...it's always a surprise but we have to be open to the good that comes our way and know that things will change. Change might not be easy...but it's inevitable! You have such a wonderful attitude and a precious family! And you've gotten some sweet gifts lately! I'm happy for you...and very proud of you! ♥

You are a lucky woman on soooo many levels. Good luck with the move. Our little family has moved a lot and we are all so close as a result. After one of our last moves across the country, people said "you must be an expert at moving by now." But it is still always stressful. So much to do but you absolutely have the right spirit.

Hi Tammy~
You have done such a beautiful job! I am praying for new eyes - that God would give you other creative ideas as you move back. I am so sorry for the stress. It seems like when we go through those difficult times is when we are made stronger. (You'd think I could life a boulder). =0) Praying that God will do a new thing.
Blessings!

Oh, you're going back to your house with beautiful arches! So sorry the house wasn't cared for properly (that always seems to happen!), but I'm sure you'll have it back in top form in no time. If you have as good of luck with your move as you've had with giveaways lately, it's going to be a breeze!

You've really won some wonderful things! I recently won a little blue shelf I love too. I hope your move back is a good one for you. Packing and moving is always such an ordeal but I am sure the transition will be easier for you THIS was than it was the other way!

Tammy, moves are always hard, even if it is something you really want to have happen. Good luck, and rest when you can! Now, I really REALLY love that silhouette pillow, actually ALL your recent wins! I've been lucky lately, too! Guess we should buy a LOTTO ticket, huh?!?

I really related to this post. We were trying to sell our house and a couple did a lease with the option to purchase. We moved about 150 miles away, changed jobs, etc. At the end of the year, the couple could not get their financing, so we moved back into our house (it had a lot of arches, too!)Luckily, they had taken excellent care of the house and yard. So sorry that is not the same for you. It was really good to move back into our house again and we eventually got it sold and made some additional life changes and moved again. Life is truly an adventure!

Oh poor Tammy! I feel for you girl! That is why I tell The Hubster that I can never lease or rent our home out. It was an option before we started moving around but I knew that people do not always respect and take pride in what they have. They figure it is not theirs so why care. I hope that you get everything in your "new" home that you want! I would say go with a darker wood. I am not a fan of light wood unless it is vintage looking. We are currently ripping out medium toned flooring that looks red. It is a long process but eventually will get done. Prayers being sent for lil' Gavin and his family! We all truly forget just how truly blessed we are.

Well at least you know and can change your focus, but I feel your pain about moving again!
