The Little Chair

Introducing the "little chair."  You saw the man's chair, now here's the lady's chair in all her petite goodness.  The animal print pillow is from Target- $29, chair from a flea market- $15.
She cleaned up quite nicely with fabric cleaner.

I don't remember why I was in a flea market days before moving. Must have been an escape from packing.
Never go to a flea market or thrift store when:
-you don't want to buy anything.
-you can't buy anything.
Murphy's law: you'll find the best bargain at that exact moment.

How could I even think about another piece of furniture to move?

This one wasn't so clean but I loved its soft curve. Even though both pieces had been recovered with the same fabric, I don't think they are original mates. Close enough.

I bought the chair first, went home, then returned the next day to buy the sofa- $55 after a bit of negotiating.  A bargain is always justified right?

Hopefully re-upholstery will be done before my next move.

Thinking about the color.

I so love the peacock blue velvet.

Or a light blue/gray leather.

Gray velvet is nice too.

But really, neutral always makes the best sense.

You know the routine. Add the pillows.

Your little ladies' chair is delightful--and in such good shape. The couch will be fun to plan for. Yes and pillows make all the difference! I do like that blue ...

I love the sofa and the way it curves. The last photo of the white sofa and the gold reminds me of my mother's style of furniture. Elegant!

I just LOVE that little chair...so charming. You have great ideas for the sofa, too. Before we moved across the country, my friends saw two robins egg blue lamps at a consignment store that they really thought I should buy...so I did...they just made it on to the moving truck. Eight years later and I still love those lamps!!

Those are great finds! Tough call on the sofa. I'd be most drawn to either neutral (which I love playing up with pillows and throws) or the dark grey velvet...so lucious!

That's a perfect chair for the lady.

Wow those are great deals on some nice pieces. Love the lines of the sofa. You know the grey is a neutral, and might hide dirt better than cream.

I agree neutral will last longer if you should change your decor. I love your "lady" chair! You're lucky that it cleaned up so well. I bought a chair from a moving sale once and didn't have very good luck getting it clean. But, still love the chair and it was a bargain. Can't wait to see your sofa when it's recovered and set-up in your home.

Love that chair! What a steal! I think you should go with the peacock blue if it makes your heart sing, if not, go with neutral + fun pillows. Looking forward to seeing what you end up doing. Thanks for sharing.

Hello sweet B,
Your little white chair is adorable!!! I love it. If your beautiful new couch doesn't clean up, I vote for white again, or grey velvet! I love the grey velvet couch that you showed above, how fabulous and elegant is that!?!?!
Love and hugs, Cindy

LOL -- that's something I would do (but maybe not buy something to recover since I've never done that!) I love the blue velvet but yes, the neutral does offer more options. Can't wait to see the finished product!
