Black and White Floors

Classic beauty.  I love them. Especially the glossy expanse of floors that make me want to take my shoes off and slide across in my socks.
It's a "Dream with B" session, photos courtesy of Pinterest.

Entrances are fabulous but so are kitchens.

Thanks for all of your well wishes while I was sick. I'm finally on the mend after 10 days! I've missed blogging. Unfortunately, we only have one laptop which Doc needs for work. I can do pinterest on the phone but not blogging. Hoping I can now catch up with all of you.
Have a great week!

I'm a fan of black and white floors too. My favorite is at a B&B near here, wooden floors that are painted and feathered to look like marble then lacquered with many layers. Just gorgeous! These pics are wonderful!
Glad your better, I'm home with it today, yuck!

These floors are just beautiful. They look fantastic in big open spaces. I love the small patterns in bathrooms, too!

I've missed you. Glad you are feeling better. I was just at a restaurant last night that had black and white penny tile and it was gorgeous. Great pics.

I have always loved black and white floors, too. Especially in an entryway! There is just a classic beauty about them. Love these images!

I love them too, infact I have them in my laundry/pantry room, not super glossy though, and my walls are a butter yellow, I always feel cheerful going in there! Glad you are on your feet again! :)

Apparently, from the comments I got on my blog, when I posted and asked for opionions on black and white flooring, that a LOT of people like them, myself included. If we stay in our current home, I'm definitely getting them. Now, if we could just decide if we're staying in our current home, lol!

I'm glad you are starting to feeling better! We are just finishing our third round of sickness. We still tire more easily than normal.

Hey my friend!
When I'm a big girl and grow up I want a Country French Kitchen with the black and white floors. Ha! Beautiful.
I remember one of my friends when she bought her first condo newly married they tore out all the flooring downstairs and did Black/White on a diagonal and wow, then added touches of whimsey in Red. Its was cute. Can a Kitchen be cute.
Glad to hear your better.

I love black & white floors! I love that they fit in with the shiny & elegant to the shabby & vintage and still look great.

Black and white floors are a standard in my design. I have white carrara marble entry with absolute black granite border and diamond insets. In my guest bath I have it in a checkerboard patter, that is my all time fav. I waited for years to get it and I am so glad I waited and finally got what I truly wanted. It is a classic!! Kathysue

Oh how I would love a black and white floor in my 50s kitchen. So cute it would be.

Black and white floors are such a classic! They just never go out of style. I am thinking about doing this in my laundry room. Would love a foyer done in black and white!!!!
You found gorgeous images.

I think that one photo shows how tiles on a diagonal look so much better. I love black and white tile--such a classic. I think they were so popular back in the 40s and 50s, were away awhile but really back now. I may be wrong.

Hope you are feeling better!

I adore black and white floors! I'm so glad to hear that you're feeling better. Once I finish my slipcovers I will feel much better, just looking at an unfinished one makes me feel sick,:).
Have a good week.

You always find the best photos! Those floors are so charming, really dressing up every space. Can you believe those staircases? To die for and think of all the exercise if you had to run up and down all day.

These floors are so elegant and timeless. I think I like them better on the diagonal.

As a guest what makes a house is the entrance and the kitchen. You probably judge a house most first time looking at it from the kitchen and the entrance. Some people may argue that the rooms are what really make a huge but I don't think so.

Love this look! Question: does anyone know how to keep the high gloss on the tile floors? Cleanser? Wax. We have this in our garage/aka guest room, in a small condo. It's adorable.

Beautiful photos of the elegant black & white floors. We have this in our garage/aka guest room. It's chic and practical. Question: what is best high gloss treatment (glaze/wax?) for tiles? Ours is dulling, but I love the high sheen in these pics.
