555 Reasons

Thanksgiving is over but I'm grateful each and every day for my family.  This past weekend a favorite uncle of mine passed away.  Yesterday sitting in the middle of church, a wave of grief swallowed me up.  It was so overwhelming I almost bolted outside. But then my little boy climbed in my lap and squeezed me real tight. A gentle reminder that life goes on, it's short and I must make the most of it.

To save money this year, I decided to be my own photographer. I'm known to cut important parts out of pictures. Like a head (see above.)
Let's just say this one was making a game out of it but we didn't care as long as he was happy. He is so proud of his first missing tooth on the bottom.

You probably already know that 13 year old boys do not care about taking pictures.
Smiles from Mr. Handsome only come when not posing.

And the princess. Isn't her hair amazing? Not only is it an unusual color, it will do just about anything. She loves to twist it in all kinds of crazy ways.  I think she should have been born in the 30's or 40's. She loves everything about that era.

Somewhere in the batch of 100 + photos, we'll select one for our Christmas card.

I really do have 555 reasons (and then some) to be thankful.

Beautiful children! Looks like each one is full of personality. I know you count your blessings each time you look into their eyes. I'm sorry for your loss. But the joy of children in one's life helps heal that pain. Take care ~ sarah

Beautiful! For some inexplicable reason many of our childhood family photos feature a holdall (bag). I think my Dad used to put it down to take the picture and always managed to get it in shot.

Great family photos ~ so true about getting the best shots when they aren't posing. Is it wrong to be jealous of your daughter's hair? I can only dream of such hair styles.

Have a great week ~

Those are fabulous pictures, and I dare say as nice or nicer than professional shots. I prefer more candid, caught in the moment shots =)

You're photos are wonderful! You have such cute children and I love your daughter's hair. I always wished I had red hair.

And...if it makes you feel any better, my kids aren't very cooperative with picture taking either.

Hi, Tammy! What precious kiddos! A dear family friend once told my daughter that she had "Heaven Hair" She said, "That's the kind of hair I'll have in heaven!" This has become a favorite family saying. I'd say your daughter has "Heaven Hair" as well! She is just beautiful! And your boys are quite handsome as well!

Oh my gosh...I loved seeing your family. The red hair is incredible! We have always taken our own pics for Christmas cards. Some years were better than others! Seems anymore when I get a Christmas card without pics I'm disappointed...hope you had a good Thanksgiving.

The top of your son's head chopped off, works for that photo. :)
