I love to put up a tree in the dining room because the window faces the front of our house. Don't you enjoy driving by houses and seeing a tree all aglow in the window?
I wedged the tree into an urn using bricks to anchor it. The gold is acutally a tree skirt gathered and tucked.
I also decided to add a little blue to the gold decor which I've had for 15 or more years. Gold and silver are my two favorite colors for Christmas. Sparkle will always be in style.
While teaching school in Savannah, a mom of one of my students made this ornament for me. It holds sand and shells from Tybee Island. I'll always cherish it.
Glimpses around the room.
Please forgive me for not visiting and commenting much this week. I am down with the flu. No good time to be sick but better now than next week.
Hope you are enjoying the season!

Great idea to put a tree in the dining room, I was considering that this year too! Maybe I will next yr.....I just was out driving home from picking son#3 up and we were looking at peoples trees in their windows. It's the one time of the yr. you don't feel silly slowing down looking in peoples houses at night...HAHA!Love the look of your tree and I am sure it looks wonderful from outside too!
Beautiful! I love the addition of blue to the always-popular gold.
So sorry to hear you're under the weather. Will pray you're fully recovered and ready to "jingle all the way" next week! :-) Get some rest, Friend!
Your dining room looks lovely, Tammy! Hope you're feeling better soon. I'm eating a zinc tablet and drinking green tea as I type this. I'm coming down with something... just in time for the kids to get out of school tomorrow. But, as you said... better this week than next. Take care!
Pretty tree and colors. My husband has a horrible cold and I have just a bit of one and we are keeping Leila tomorrow night who also has a cold while mom is out of town and dad has to get up very early to work Friday with a last minute call. I told my daughter we will just all be together sharing our germs. Hope you feel better soon.
Oh, I hope you feel better soon. Your dining room looks so pretty. I posted mine today also.
Blessings to you.

I hope you are feeling better very soon, my dear. Your dining room tree is beautiful, I love the blue and gold together. They are a timeless combination, aren't they. What a sweet little ornament from your former student. Christmas is a time for remembering, thanks to ornaments. Everything looks lovely!

Beautiful dining room. I love the tree in the urn.
Wow! I didn't know you were from Houston either. What part? I'm from the Spring area.
Not sure if our trip is going to be on or not, my son has got a cold. We'll see in a couple days.
I hope you feel better too!
Such a beautiful tree you've created for your dining room. I just love the blue with the gold. This is the first year that I didn't put a tree in my dining room and I really miss it. I hope you feel better soon!
Marianne :)
I love the blue and the gold...it is stunning!
How beautiful. True, I love seeing Christmas trees in neighbors windows.
Hope you are feeling better by now. Your dining room is so pretty...love all the blue. The tree is perfect in front of the window. I'm probably going to be taking a break until after Christmas. I'm out of pictures and can't think of anything else to post about. Happy Christmas to you and your family. Safe travels...talk to you in the New Year!
I love that tree in the pot and the pretty colors. How nice to see while you are dining.
I covet your dining room decorations... especially the plate with the ornaments. That's a must have for me next year. I hope your Christmas is blessed and that you are feeling better.
