Back to the board- Chalkboards

Even though chalkboards have been exhausted, I'm not over them yet.  I'm joining Sixty-Fifth Avenue's Chalkboard linky party today.  She asked what messages we post on our boards. I tend to write on mine for the season.  This week, of course I'm all about Valentines and love.  Here are some other seasons.

I like some cloudiness on my board. But it's getting to be a little too much. What do you clean your chalkboards with?

I use a wet rag to clean my chalkboard door. I wish it did a better job...the kids use colored chalk on it to so it is hard to get all of it off. I will be anxious to see what people suggest!

yours looks great by the way!!

I think the frame on your chalkboard makes it special. And then of course your clever comments is the cherry on the top.

PS No Jane, I haven't made one yet either!! I do have a stick on wallees type chalkboard that goes on the wall that I use. A no commitment type chalkboard!

Hello sweet B,
Your chalkboard is beautiful! I need a large pretty one, I have a small one that I don't write on much.
I wash mine down when I change the message on it.

Hi Tammy, omg, i love chalkboards too. Maybe too much , lol. Not sure if u noticed , but the my whole dining room is done in chalkboard paint. All the black above the beadboard is chalkboard. I like to do more than just write on mine. A stencil is a great way to "draw" on it.........thanks for stopping by my blog:-)

Tammy that is just beautiful! I have a large vintage frame that I want to make a chalkboard with as soon as the weather gets warmer. Don't have a great place to paint inside! I did a chalkboard table for the grandkids and it was getting a little to chalky for me too! So I just re-sprayed it with three more coats of Chalkboard paint and its holding up better with just using a wet cloth. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving sweet comments. Hope you have a blessed day, Vicky

Tammy, your personality shines through every time, my friend! What love you show through your chalky messages each season...

I like the little bit chalky look myself but from what I remember of chalk boards, just a little water and damp rag work fine for clean up.

Genie

You make the simple chalkboard so elegant with your gorgeous frame!!! All I use is a damp paper towel, give it a good wipe, and I'm good to go!

Anita said...

Now that's a chalkboard!
It's serving two purposes: adding beauty and something eye-catching to your dining area, and allowing messages to be seen by everyone.

I love your chalkboard frame. You have very neat handwriting/printing!! I use a wet sponge to wipe mine down when I change the message. Usually I post a scripture, and the weekly menu. Our chalkboard is divided. The bottom half is for the kids to doodle on :)

That chalkboard is so pretty! Love all the different sayings on it! I am answering your question about my tile. So far, it is rather easy to clean up and is holding up very well. I'm tempted to put it in the kitchen, but oh, what a chore!!! I am in love with it so far!!
