Now that the rain is over...

 My rain boots have arrived!

That's what happens when you wait for a bargain. $7.87 at Target online.
I finally have a pair of boots to put by the front door!

Prince O is into cowboy boots big time.  The first order of business after school is he slides off his tennis shoes, puts on his boots, grabs his toy pistol and goes outside to patrol the area.  So his boots must be by the door.

I posted about the vase here.  It makes a perfect umbrella holder.

I wanted an umbrella with a curved handle so I picked up this cute pink one at Dollar General for $5.

Some of you may wonder why I post a lot of "borrowed" decor photos and few of my own.
We are in the process of moving, again.  I don't know just when.  Could be two months or a year.  I've known that and could never  fully get into decorating this house.  We could possibly move twice within the next year.  (Life with the Doc in training.)
To keep my decorating insanity in tact, I tackle very small areas using mostly what I have.  It'd be crazy to buy so much as a candle when I'll have to box it up so soon.  My next project is the sun room, seen in the first photo.  Maybe I'll get it decorated before I have to pack up everything!

Such is the life, I know. Well, a girl's gotta have her traveling boots ready. Send that rain this a-way!

What cute boots! I also giggled when you described Prince O. "patroling the area"! It must be difficult to be "on the move", but you've certainly decorated your entrance beautifully!

The boots are perfectly precious. Wishing you the best in your upcoming move(s).

I feel for ya (with regards to the move). I too have been a bit stuck for posts, but there are many blogs out there who post nothing but inspirational photos (not their own). While I prefer seeing blogs that post about their own spaces, I can totally understand the need to use others photos too. I just don't have that many projects going on in my own house to post about each day!

Love your boots Tammy! Perfect for splashing in puddles! Best of luck to you in your next home!

I love your boots!! I saw some this morning at the christmas tree shop for 6.99 but they didn't have my size! Darn.

I have plenty of rain here...send them over and I will put them to good use. They are so cheery that the rain wouldn't even matter...much.

I was thinking who is Prince O? Her hubby? Cuz my hubby has a cowboy boots thing too!! But it is little guy, how cute. Well I love your rain boots. I was wearing my wellies today putting out the trash. If it is damp out, on they go. Yours are adorable and so is the pink umbrella. I was also thinking what a fab front door!! Well good luck with the move. You are doing a great job holding it together until you will be parked in one spot for a while.

I had the same think happen with my pretty rain boots...I got them on sale because the season was over here...BUT next yr GF we are ready :)

I so understand the decorating lull in a "I know it is temporary" house...I was like that in the double wide, never even painted the white walls and it ended up being 6yrs that we lived there...oops lol...Just do what makes you happy were you are...that is why we decorate to begin with.

Blessings Kelsie

Love the boots! I know what you mean. I once moved into a house after a breakup and I knew I didn't want to stay in that house. I couldn't even bring myself to hang a picture on the wall. I eventually did but it took me months to start arranging and I was never committed. I didn't want to buy anything for it. Unlike this house...I couldn't wait to start arranging and buying.

Great deal on the cute boots! I keep myself a pair by the front door too....but I don't have a cute umbrella holder!
Keep on decorating like you are.....it's good to "shop the shed" sometimes and work with what we've got. :)

The cowboy boots and Prince O sound like just the thing to make you smile when he comes home from school! How cute! And so are your new boots. I love Target online...it has everything they run out of in the stores.

I hope you don't move for awhile...I thought you would stay put for awhile. But, you are doing the smart thing, not filling your house with a lot of pieces. Unlike me! '-D

Jane

Wow, you are a very patient wife. No wonder you two make such a good team. I hope that you can do a bit more of the decorating that you love so much while you wait for the next big move.

Your new boots are brilliant too; what a bargain!

Best wishes,
Natasha.

Okay, I will try again! I was interrupted and I just got back back, as I was saying, I'm sure you are looking forward to life being a little or maybe a whole lot more settled. I love what I do see of your taste and decor, so I know your home will be gorgeous when you do get to settle down.
Your boots are just TOO cute, I guess you won't wear them out this year, they will be like new for next Spring!
Have a great day my dear friend,
Hugs, Cindy

We have the perfect weather for these boots, today! How cute are those? OMGosh... Love them! You can wear them along with "Prince O"... you can be his trusty sidekick. :D Hugs!!!

Love your boots! We have tons of rain going on here right now...I could use them. :-) Now, I'm all over cowboy/western style boots too! Of course, a true Texan should be, right?

I moved twice last year and it was more than I could take. Of course, I'm much older than you too! It was simply overwhelming, expensive and challenging. I know you will handle yours with style though!

Your boots are very "sassy" and the cowboy boots. What can I say, I'm a sucker for 'em! I have a navy blue pair of cowboy boots I've had for about 18 years and I'm still wearing them. I wear them with my jean skirts all the time!

So, you are moving?! Fun stuff, eh! See, I have a sense of humor!

"These boots are made for walking ..."
It's nice how you have the vision for fixing up those small places. It does your heart good I'm sure. I get a lift out of just a new accent pillow or switching things around.

Love the boots! I am hoping you will get a surprise rain strom soon so that you can put those cute boots to use.

You must feel so much safer with a real live cowboy protecting you. How adorable!

My vintage cowboy boots went off to college with my daughter where, rumor has it, they are having so much more fun than when they were stuck in my closet!

Love the colorful rainboots!

Love the new boots! So fun! I hope you get an afternoon shower to show them off. If not, they still look fabulous on the tray with the little cowboy boots! Thanks for sharing.

I need a pair of rain boots today. Yipee! It's been raining all morning. We haven't seen as much as a drop for months, so this is welcome indeed. Guess it's a good thing I didn't get a pair just yet. LOL
Love the ones you found. ~ Sarah

Hi, Your rain boots are so cute, but I can just picture the cowboy with the pistol having had three boys of my own. That is such a cute story! Thanks so much for linking this up and I hope you can settle soon.:)

Cute rain boots. I'd be tempted to not wear them and just leave them out as a piece of art.

Good luck on getting settled! Hopefully it will be soon! These years will be hard, but worth it eventually. Looks like you are decorating enough to have little spots to make the house feel homey, which is the important thing!
