The girl dreams again...

Elle Decor
My last post on cozy spots got me to thinking of this.  I was gravitating towards the larger window seats and thought, why not a daybed?  Nice alternative, wouldn't you say?

Here's some pretty pink ones for Pink Saturday.

When my daughter was little, I couldn't wait to get her an iron daybed.  We have long since moved on but there's still a little girl inside of me who longs for one. Reality check:  I hated making up the bed on that thing.  It was so hard to tuck all the corners.  I have a feeling if I had one now, it would pretty much look like this-

Hmm..come to think of it, these days my king bed is starting to look like this.  Another one of those things that slides when I'm running late for work.  I won't tell you how often.  I was taught better.  My mom never left the house without first making the bed.  We could be on our way to the hospital and she'd stop to make up the bed.

Do you ever leave the house without making your bed?

Ooooh, the first one! It's waaaaay to feminine for our "his and hers" house, but it's really pretty! ...Leave the house without making the bed? Well, of course I would stop to make the bed -- ESPECIALLY if I were on the way to the hospital! :-)

Stop by and enter my celebration giveaway if you get a chance! Have a great weekend.

I love it when you dream! I feel the same way about a day bed! They are a dream to look at, but a nightmare to make up!

I want to move in to that first room! I had a daybed as a teen and it was a pain to make, they are cozy though to cuddle up in, you feel enveloped by the three sides, especially if you throw a bunch of pillows on it!

Thank you for the eye candy.

Using the twin bed is a great idea. Candace Olsen always does that on her design show, she even has a custom cover made for it out of upholstery fabric. It always looks great!

These pictures are all so, so pretty. I think a daybed would be a great alternative to a window seat. I have become the world's worst when it comes to making the bed in the mornings!

Have a great weekend, Nicole

Happy Pink Saturday Tammy Sweetie...
Oh that turquoise one stole my heart. How elegant is that? I can think of many corners in my house I would put it in, just for me. I could curl up with a great book and read for hours.

Everything in these photos were beautiful. You found some wonderful ones sweetie. Thank you for dreaming for me too.

Have a glorious weekend sweetie. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

Love these pics! Daybeds are just so romantic. Even the more modern angular ones have such a core of romanticism to them.

I'm embarassed to say how often I leave my house with the bed unmade. My problem is that I would make my bed as soon as I got up, if my husband wasn't in it. I'm an early riser - never later than 6am. He doesn't get up until the crack of 9:30. By the time he gets up, I'm already elbows deep in some project and have totally forgotten about the bed. I really need to put that on my list.

Daybeds are sooo romantic, every girl wants one! I love the softer way of dressing one up..just seems wrong to try and appeal to the masculine side of treating a daybed!

It's so funny, because when I first started reading this post I thought to myself what a pain these daybeds must be to make! :) They are awfully pretty though!

As I sit writing this post, my bed is unmade. I usually never leave the house with it like that. I guess it's just a habit for me, because I am not a neat freak. I'm also the same way about the dishwasher! :)

Hi Tammy,
So nice to meet you on this Happy Pink Saturday! Thanks for stopping by and following my little corner. I will certainly be following you after this visit!! I love daybeds. All of these are awesome, but I REALLY like the pink and turquoise and the super comfy toile. That's one unmade bed that needs to stay that way! Why, of course YES, my bed goes unmade lots of days!!! Beautiful post! Thanks for sharing.

When I was a teenager, I really wanted a daybed. However, good sense took over when my parents gave me the choice of a big queen size bed or a tiny little twin daybed.

After serious thought, I started questiong how you make the bed with one. After what you said about your daughter's bed, I made the right choice not to get one.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Still loving that Pottery Barn one with the blue and green stripes.

Daybeds are so pretty! Sometimes I don't make the bed, but I don't like crawling into an unmade bed :).
Have a great Sunday!

Hello dear friend,
I leave the house with my bed unmade on Sundays only. That is because I always crawled back in for a snooze after Church and lunch. But, now I do it out of laziness because with no night church I don't feel the need for a nap.:o)
I love all of the day beds you have shown us today, I especially love the first one! It's so luxurious with all of those furs surrounding it and the pillows on it, I can just imagine curling up in that softness!
I always wanted a daybed for my daughter, Carolyn, so she got one when she was 16 and she loved it. Now she has a little girl and she recently got her one that has a trundle bed under it, it's very pretty and so sweet to lie on.
After the first one, I love the shabby chic one and the PB ones.
Hugs, Cindy

Love your dream pics of what I call "fainting" couches. Yeah, we do make the bed each day, but our rule is (and has been for 39 years) whoever gets up last, makes the bed. Since I tend to get up really early I end up not making the bed very often.

Hey Tammy Girl,
Loved all the great pics. You had a photo for sure that appeals to all tastes.
So no I NEVER EVER LEAVE WITHOUT MAKING THE BED. I get up, put my robe on and make the bed before I even get coffee. I don't like the feeling knowing I'm coming home to unmade beds. Guess it too is from my upbringing and my mom always having everything in it's place.

God bless!

So many pretty images. I love the turquoise bed. Beautiful! And guess what? I *never* make my bed unless I know someone is FOR SURE going to see my room. Isn't that terrible? haha
